The Applied Healthcare Cyber Risk Management micro-credential is awarded to learners who demonstrate their understanding of how to manage HIPAA compliance and security risks within an enterprise health organization.
To earn this Level III Badge, you must successfully complete CYB 613: Practical, Hands-On Healthcare. Completion of the course includes readings, recorded lectures, live instructor-led sessions, discussion boards, lab assignments, essays, quizzes and a final exam.

All learners who complete the criteria will earn a Level III Badge.
Complete CYB 613 Practical, Hands-On Healthcare (3 Credits). In this course, students complete three modules: Enterprise Cybersecurity Risk Management, HIPAA Compliance Risk Management and HIPAA Security Risk Analysis and Risk Management.
Gain a fundamental understanding of HIPAA Security Rule, Privacy Rule and Breach Notification Rule. Students will be able to carry out a compliance assessment for a model hospital and create a remediation plan based on gaps found.
Demonstrate comprehension of the HIPAA requirements for risk analysis and risk management. Students will be able to carry out a NIST-based risk assessment of a model hospital including scoping and framing, asset determination, controls assessment and documentation, risk evaluation and risk response and reporting
Master the terms associated with ECRM including risk, resilience, cybersecurity, threats, vulnerabilities, controls, likelihood and impact. Learn ECRM programs including risk appetite, risk treatment, frameworks such as NIST CSF and NIST SP 800-39 and ECRM maturity models. Students will analyze a model hospital to assess ways that an ECRM program can contribute to organization success.
Assessment of completion of micro-credential requirements is completed by faculty evaluators through the completion of required courses.

Learners can begin their pursuit of micro-credentials at any level; individuals who are new to the field are best suited for Participation or Level I badges, whereas experienced professionals might be more interested in advanced Level III Badges or Level IV Certifications.
