The Foundations of Web Development micro-credential is awarded to students demonstrating foundational skills in client-side and server-side programming of web development as well as web analytics.
Through projects in a series of courses for this Level III Badge, you will learn and apply design principles, responsive layouts, accessibility, performance optimization, version control systems, architectural patterns, database integration, authentication, authorization, security, measurement planning, data collection, audience characteristics and more.
You should pursue this micro-credential if:
You are an undergraduate student at Quinnipiac or another university
You are interested in earning transferable academic credits
Your curricular and career aspirations would be improved by showcasing your ability to design client-side and server-side website solutions
This program must be completed on campus and is offered in accordance with the for-credit courses that comprise the micro-credential. Please refer to the Course Catalog for the most recent information regarding course sections and schedules.

All learners who complete the required outputs will earn a Level III Badge.
Complete CIS 267: Client-Side Web Development (3 Credits). This course introduces you to HTML and CSS, which are the core client-side programming languages used to build websites. In this project-based course, you learn how to develop modern websites using professional tools and workflows. Topics include design principles, responsive layouts, video and audio, accessibility, performance optimization and version control systems.
Complete CIS 381: Server-Side Web Development (3 Credits). This course introduces you to server-side programming, which is used to develop websites that can tailor their content to individual visitors. In this project-based course, you learn how to develop websites with server-side programming that adheres to industry best practices. Topics include architectural patterns, database integration, authentication, authorization and security
Complete BAN 310: Web Analytics (3 Credits). This course introduces you to the concept and use of web analytics. Topics covered include measurement planning, data collection, audience characteristics, traffic acquisition and user behavior. Students use Google Analytics to apply their learning and take the Google Analytics Individual Qualification exam to demonstrate their proficiency at the completion of this course.

These badges are awarded to learners who have demonstrated mastery of tactical skills and knowledge that can be applied in professional working environments. Learners must showcase their ability to apply a collection of competencies or industry standards in true-to-life environments.

All students who complete a micro-credential associated with academic credit or co-curricular experiences will receive a designation on their transcript and a digital badge through Credly. Micro-credential earners are encouraged to share their achievements on resumes, social media platforms and e-portfolios.
Learners can begin their pursuit of micro-credentials at any level; individuals who are new to the field are best suited for Participation or Level I badges, whereas experienced professionals might be more interested in advanced Level III Badges or Level IV Certifications.
